Day 1 USA/LONDON
Depart home and fly to London.
Day 2 LONDON
Upon arrival in London, you will have a private transfer to the
heart of the city. If you're not too tired, along the way your driver
will give you a short orientation tour. Check in at your hotel and
enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.
Day 3 LONDON
After breakfast, meet your guide for a special Harry Potter tour
that includes the major sites of London-Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament,
Westminster Abbey, Trafalgar Square, the nearby Australia High Commission
(Gringott's Wizarding Bank), and the King's Cross station where
you'll search for the mysterious Platform 9 ¾ . Optional afternoon
tour of the Tower of London and attendance at a West End show this
evening.
Day 4 LONDON
Day at leisure to enjoy London. You may want to take a river cruise,
visit the British Museum, or go shopping. A guide can be arranged
for you if you so desire.
Day 5 GLOUCESTER
Morning departure into the Thames Valley. Make a short stop to visit
the Dursley's house on Privet Drive. Drive on to Oxford University,
where you will visit the Bodleian Library (note that young children
are not admitted to Duke Humphrey's Library), and the college of
Christ Church, Oxford's largest. This is a very important location
for the Harry Potter films as the students' and professors' dining-hall
is the scene of Hogwarts' functions and feasts. After the visits,
you will have free time to browse in Oxford's fine bookstores before
journeying to the Cotswolds. Overnight in Gloucester.
Day 6 GLOUCESTER
This morning, you will explore Gloucester, see the cathedral and
associated King's School (the site of many extras for school scenes).
Then drive to the Cotswolds and visit several lovely villages, including
the site of Godric's Hollow in the films. On your way back to Gloucester,
you'll stop in the lovely city of Bath.
Day 7 YORKSHIRE
Today you will travel to Yorkshire via Birmingham and Derbyshire;
your destination is Goathland. "All aboard" for the steam train
ride across the Yorkshire Moors. Imagine Harry sitiing next to you
on the Hogwarts Express train journey! After disembarking you will
continue on to your REAL castle hotel near Durham for a 2 night
stay!
Day 8 ALNWICK
You'll visit the little town of Alnwick, near the coast of Northumberland,
stopping by the historic castle, the location of several quiddich
matches in the films. You'll return to Durham to visit the cathedral,
which was also featured in the movie.
Day 9 LONDON
Return to London via train. Spend your last evening there.
OR continue on to Scotland!

Transfer to the airport for flight back to the United States. |
