The Top End
Trip length: 6 days

Upon arrival in Darwin, taxi on your own to your hotel for overnight. 3 or 4 star hotel

Day 1
Head for Kakadu National Park along the Arnhem Highway. The adventure begins with a boat cruise on the Adelaide River. You will have a great opportunity to spot crocodiles and birdlife in their natural habitat. Crossing the South Alligator River we head for the magnificent panoramic views at Ubirr Rock. Watch the sunset over Yellow Waters as you settle into a relaxing evening by the open fire.

Day 2
Breakfast on the dawn chorus of birdlife around the camp before heading off to Barramundi Gorge. Relax in the cool, clear, safe waters or explore this beautiful gorge. On the way to Nitmiluk (Katherine Gorge) we stop off at Edith Falls for a refreshing swim. Our route takes us through the historic mining region around Pine Creek until we settle in Katherine for another night under the stars.

Day 3
The choice is yours this morning. Enjoy the spectacular Gorge either by canoe or a two hour boat cruise. The Gorge is a canoeist's paradise with sandstone cliffs and crystal clear waters. The waters are safe for swimming and the area is rich in the history of the Jawoyn Aboriginal people.

Day 4
Wake up and prepare yourself for Litchfield Park! Swim in the enormous pools at Wangi, Buley's Rockholes and Florence Falls. Enjoy the solitude of rainforest and small deep plunge pools.

Day 5
Return to Darwin. Overnight in a 3 or 4 star hotel.

Day 6
Taxi on own to the airport for your departing flight.
